Australia
In search of a second summer in the southern hemisphere, one four wheel drive, two people, six weeks, 500 rolls of film and 10,000 miles across Australia and Tasmania. I’m really hoping to at least get a couple good shots out of this and miss as much of winter as I possibly can.
Merry Christmas mate!

Calendar
It’s that time of year again, we’ll be sending out our 2006 Calendars late this month to all our clients past, present and future. This year we are featuring twelve panoramic images from all over the United States. Holly Roeske designed the Calendar.

Parke County Indiana
Spent a very rainy week in Parke County Indiana shooting their annual covered bridge festival for RCI Endless Vacation Magazine. I think we got about two hours of sunshine in five days and that’s being generous. The piece runs next autumn.

Money magazine, September 2005
I shot the cover and inside feature story for Money Magazine for September. It’s a story on financial independence the subject is Terry Taylor from Texas.

Cattle ranch in South Dakota
Still traveling shooting the book project. We have a couple more states to wrap up including North Dakota, Minnesota and then back to Iowa to finish things up at the famous Iowa State Fair, 27 foods on a stick!

Diner in Greektown, Detroit, MI
Well it’s July and we are on the road again this summer. We’re shooting a follow up to the book from last year The Best of the Midwest Rediscovering Americas Heartland. This year it’s the same twelve Midwest states but the focus is more on the amazing food. So lots of visits to farmers, restaurants, diners, and other interesting Midwest food stops.

Open house sign, San Diego CA
Spent a week in San Diego California shooting a feature piece for Money Magazine on the exploding real estate market in Southern California. We traveled around the area shooting portraits and landscapes. Also managed to get some swimming in and found a few good restaurants, really need to get more projects like this!

Midwest Living magazine, June 2005
This months Midwest Living cover, well actually it’s the June issue and inside feature on Peonies is some of my handy work. We shot the piece last year up in Wisconsin in a field behind a pig farm that the Peonies growers happen to rent out from the pig farmers. Wow what luck! Truly the worst smelling flower shot ever.

Best of the Midwest
Finally, all those weeks last year of shooting made it to the bookstores The Best of the Midwest Rediscovering America’s Heartland book is available. I spent eight weeks last summer traveling the Midwest with writer Dan Kaercher and a PBS film crew. We tried to cover both well known and unknown locations around the Midwest from National Parks to amazing food locations and everything in between. Take a look for it at your local bookstore or on Amazon.com.

Death Valley National Park
Took a few weeks this month and headed out to California for some shooting. Managed to cover a pretty big area starting down around the Imperial Sand Dunes and Salton Sea area and heading north through the Mojave Desert, Joshua Tree, Death Valley and then ending in Sequoia National Park. Pretty much two weeks sleeping in a Jeep and besides breaking down in the middle of nowhere in Death Valley it was a real blast.
